Description

100% pure fruit distillate from Kyustendil cherries, produced in the distillery of the Angelovi family farm in the village of Shipochano. After picking, all leaves and problematic parts are removed from the cherries, the pits are also removed by hand, and only the pure fruit goes into the fermenters. At a controlled temperature of 24 degrees, the fermentation of the raw material is completed in about a week, and immediately after that, the rakia is distilled in a hybrid copper pot still. The result is an astonishingly preserved cherry fruit taste and cherry confit with a soft and pleasant flavor. Try Angelove Cherry Rakia chilled with traditional Bulgarian salads!

Casey Angelova is an American who has been living in Bulgaria for 15 years. She moved from New York to Bulgaria in 2006 when she and her husband, Angel Angelov, left their lives in the USA to start a new adventure in Kyustendil - his hometown. Casey describes herself as a writer, farmer, chef, sustainable gardening consultant, compost master, and wine enthusiast. Since 2008, she has shared valuable experience and knowledge on her page Eating, Gardening & Living in Bulgaria and its accompanying blog. She participates in the creation of the Multi Kulti collective and the Slow Food youth network in Bulgaria, as well as in numerous events on clean food and sustainable living. At Angelove Estate, they cultivate gardens, raise poultry, organize truffle hunts, and are preparing the first craft distillery for cherry rakia in Bulgaria.
