Cardhu comes from one of the oldest Speyside distilleries, located at the foot of the River Spey for 200 years. Alluring and silky smooth is the 12-year-old Cardhu - known for notes of golden honey and a delicate, fruity character. The story of Cardhu's rise to glory is largely told in the story of two determined women: Helen Cumming, who founded the distillery with her husband in 1811, can fairly be called the first "whisky woman," and her daughter-in-law, Elizabeth, became known as the "Queen of the Whisky Trade." Cardhu 12 Year Old is well-balanced and smooth; starting sweet and fresh and finishing with a long-lasting sweet smoke, with a drying aftertaste. The 12-year-old Cardhu is an excellent starting point for anyone embarking on a journey into the world of whiskey. The smooth, honeyed aromas are best enjoyed neat or on the rocks. This whiskey won a Silver Award at the International Wine & Spirit Competition in 2014 and Gold at The Scotch Whisky Masters 2014.
