As the largest independent family-owned champagne producer, Louis Roederer ranks among the best in the region. Established in 1776, the House is today managed by seventh-generation family member Frédéric Rouzaud, along with long-serving cellar master and Champagne legend Jean-Baptiste Lecaillon. They own an astonishing 242 hectares of vineyards, many in the chalk-rich Grand Cru villages, covering two-thirds of their grape needs. Roederer became pioneers in biodynamic farming, and by 2012, all 78 hectares of the 'Cristal Estates' were farmed using biodynamic methods. By 2021, Roederer will have certified 115 hectares as organic. All grapes in Cristal and the other vintages come from their own vineyards. Today, Cristal is widely recognized as the most awarded prestige cuvée champagne in the world.
Color: Pale yellow color with a greenish tint and an abundance of fine pearls.
Aroma: Intense, delicate and fruity aroma with great freshness.
Taste: The taste reveals perfect structure, richness and length. Intense and delicate taste of green apple, lemon and brioche.
Aging: 3 years in the cellar and 3 months after disgorgement.
