Château Carbonnieux Grand Cru Classé 2012, 0.75
A testament to the medieval history of Château Carbonnieux is the exchange deed between two monks from the powerful Sainte-Croix de Bordeaux Abbey. Founded in the 13th century by the Benedictines, Château Carbonnieux is one of the oldest in Bordeaux. In 1956, Marc Perrin acquired the château, which was classified as Red and White in 1959. Today, his grandsons - Eric and Philibert - continue the work. The terroir of Château Carbonnieux, established as early as the 12th century, lies on a beautiful, naturally drained gravel ridge. The grape varieties cultivated are: 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot.
