Description
Domaine Hubert Lignier has long been famed for exquisite wines, known for their concentration, depth, and structure. We were exceptionally fortunate to have begun our relationship as the U.S. importer for this estate with the 1978 vintage. At that time, Hubert Lignier bottled small quantities of two different cuvees of Morey St. Denis (the appellation bottling and the 1er Cru "Vieilles Vignes") as well as the legendary Clos de la Roche. As our relationship progressed, more and more of the cellar's secrets made their way into bottles rather than being sold to negociants. Now all the domaine's wines are bottled under their own label. Hubert's son, Laurent, is the next generation of this proud estate, and he follows his father's traditional practices to ensure that the treasures coming from the impressive family vineyards continue to display the best of their respective appellations.
Gevrey Chambertin Regnard is made from vineyards planted between 1950 and 2002. Grapes purchased from the small appellation of "Regnard." This south-facing vineyard offers pleasant, fresh wines. Generous in its youth and with aging potential.
