Glenfiddich Orchard Experiment No:5 was created in collaboration with the founders and owners of The Somerset Cider Brandy Company, and the result is an intriguing single malt finished in Somerset Pomona Spirit casks. This truly innovative malt was initially aged in American oak casks, then finished for four months in Somerset Pomona casks.

Somerset Pomona is a spirit made from a blend of apple juice and Somerset Cider Brandy, which is then aged together in oak casks for another 2 years.

Tasting notes:

The classic notes of pears and ripe orchard fruits are enhanced by the additional aging in Somerset Pomona Spirit casks.

Aroma – Classic Glenfiddich with pear freshness in excellent balance with oak notes

Taste – An initial burst of ripe orchard fruits developing into sweet toffee, caramelized apple, and a sensation of woody spices – cinnamon, clove, nutmeg.

Finish – Long-lasting and sweet.
