Fedora (hat) Winery is located in the part of the Vipava Valley called "Vipavska Brda," where the Vipava Valley and the Karst meet: a unique climate with abundant sunshine during the day, remarkable temperature excursions between night and day, and Bora winds that sweep through the vineyards. Fedora is a family affair, starting with Walter's great-grandfather, the current owner, who cultivated vineyards in Dolanci since the late 19th century, and continuing with his grandfather and father, interrupted only by the nationalization of the vineyards after World War II, which forced him to give his grapes to the state cooperative, like everyone else. Now, Walter, together with his family, after several years of experimentation, decided to return to Dolanci from Ljubljana and no longer give the grapes to the local cooperative. They immediately dedicated themselves to restoring old vineyards and varieties and planting new ones. The choice fell on local varieties: Ribolla, Zelen, Pinela, Refosco, Picolit, Vitovska, and many, many other local varieties now constitute almost the entire production, with a small amount of Chardonnay remaining from when international varieties predominated. Biodynamic principles govern the work in the vineyard and minimal intervention in the cellar to produce extremely fresh, salty, and varietal wines.

Spontaneous fermentation takes place with the vineyard's own yeasts. It ages after 21 days of maceration in oak barrels and concrete eggs, which highlight its true character. The color of the natural wine is golden yellow. Intense aroma, apples, passion fruit, yellow plums, and citrus notes. Followed by herbal notes like rosemary, but also pine wood and delicate vanilla. Perfectly buttery, mature, and harmonious in the mouth. Delicate salinity and beautiful minerality with a spicy finish. Goli Breg is a wonderful orange wine with a very harmonious variety of aromas that will stay in your memory for a long time.
