Description

A wonderful, masterfully crafted Bolgheri, serious yet appetizing, with a magnificent character. Wonderfully open, with aromas of blackcurrant, grape, smoke, earth, and stone. It's excellent upon release but possesses a balance that allows it to age for several more decades. A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, and 15% Sangiovese. The special grey clay, marl, and limestone soils here help the Sangiovese achieve depth. From vineyards on steep hillsides at 100 meters above sea level and produced in a lightly extracted manner, this is a complex Bolgheri intended for genuine enjoyment, not the trophy cabinet. The wine ages for 18 months in both new and one-year-old barriques, with an additional 12 months of bottle aging.
