Description

This historic family estate is named after its founder, Cesare Pio, who established the business in 1881. The winery is based in Alba, in the heart of Piedmont. Pio Cesare built Barolo's reputation abroad in the 1950s, being among the first producers to export the wine to the United Kingdom.

L'Altro, or "the other," is the winery's second Chardonnay. The grapes are hand-picked and then carefully pressed. 75% ferments in stainless steel tanks, and the remaining 25% on the lees in new French oak barriques, where the wine remains for five months.
