Domaine Wachau represents 300 years of viticultural evolution, constant innovation, and fresh ideas. Through the soils, microclimate, and grape varieties specific to the Lower Austrian terroir, they create ideal conditions for cultivating first-class wines.

Today, Domaine Wachau is one of the leading wineries in Austria. A key element in the winery's growth is the dedicated work of over 250 families in the Wachau region. As most of the vineyards are located on steep slopes, cultivation must be done almost entirely by hand. Among the prerequisites for the long-term production of wines and their specific origin are meticulous vine care, principles of sustainable cultivation, and continuous soil revitalization.

Roman Horvath has been the director of Domaine Wachau since 2004. The strategic reorientation and the uncompromising pursuit of the highest quality bear his signature. Thanks to his extensive experience abroad and his successful studies, he became the second "Master of Wine" in Austria in 2009. Mr. Horvath is well aware of the enormous potential of the Wachau region in an international context. In Mr. Heinz Frischengruber, who was born in Wachau and graduated in enology and viticulture from Geisenheim University, he found a trusted partner, and together they share their vision for the region's development. After gaining experience in South Africa and California, Frischengruber has been the technical director and enologist of Domaine Wachau since 2005. He and his competent team serve as a bridge to the winegrowing families in Wachau.
