Aberlor is a historic place and its history dates back more than a thousand years. In the distant past, the valley was inhabited by a Druid community. The Druids valued oak trees and water and believed they could hear water spirits talking to each other. Aberlor is a Gaelic word meaning "the mouth of a bubbling stream."
