Description

Gloria was first documented as a vineyard in 1570 in the charter of Forchtenstein Castle. It is located at 300-325 meters above sea level, making it the highest vineyard in the Leitha Mountains. Today, known as Ried Glagsatz, the site is surrounded on all sides by the cool forest of the Leitha Mountains. Its area is only five and a quarter hectares, with the lion's share of 3.20 hectares cultivated by the Kollwentz winery. This long-lasting Chardonnay is bottled under the old name of the vineyard - "Gloria".

Strong greenish-yellow color, spicy, intense nose of yellow fruits, fine yeasty notes, mineral, very balanced and finely structured, long on the palate. Clearly expressed minerality and finesse characterize this wine. The Gloria vineyard is the highest vineyard in the Leithagebirge. Thanks to the coolness of the adjacent forest, this Chardonnay slowly reaches full ripeness on barren shell limestone soil.
