Absolut Vodka is one of the most famous vodkas in the world. Launched in the United States in 1979, it completely redefines the landscape of premium vodka, becoming synonymous with art, culture and nightlife. Starting a revolution in the creation of cocktails and launching a range of flavored vodka, never seen before on the market, Absolut becomes an icon in itself.
The creation of Absolut Vodka is a complete journey arising from our Swedish tradition of giving vodka to our source and community. Having one source and one community means that we respectfully control the whole process from seed to bottle, tracking the product itself, which is in your hand, back to our farmers.
One source is our production philosophy, which means that every aspect of our production journey takes place in and around the small village of Achus, Sweden. All Absolut vodka ingredients are made in southern Sweden. Every drop of water and every seed of wheat comes from a water source, a village and a community. This is why, no matter where you are in the world, Absolut will always have the same high quality.
Winter wheat
We use only hardy winter wheat from the area around Achus in southern Sweden. The fertile fields in southern Sweden are ideal for growing wheat, with yields about twice as high as the world average for wheat production.
Pure water
We always get our water locally from our own wells, more than 140 meters deep. The water has been filtered through the Swedish rock base for thousands of years and gives the vodka a natural taste that you can't create in a laboratory. After all, 60% of vodka is pure water, so it is an extremely essential element.
Neutral CO2 distillation
By constantly improving and keeping the focus on how we can be more sustainable, we have made our distillery one of the most energy efficient in the world. Today we have a CO2 neutral distillation a fact we are proud of.
