Bombay

Enter our distillery at Laverstoke Mill in Hampshire, England, and discover the secrets behind our world-famous gin.

Bombay Sapphire is a world-famous brand London Dry Gin, which dates back to 1985.

Its name derives from the popularity of gin in India during the British Raj. Sapphire is the purple-blue gemstone of the Bombay Star, which is mined in Sri Lanka and is on display at the Smithsonian Museum.

The best ingredients

Creating the highest possible quality gin requires the highest quality raw materials. During the distillation we use up to 12 precious plant substances, hung above the alcohol in perforated copper baskets. In this way, as the heated vapors rise, they are carefully infused with all the rich aromatic flavors that our plant products release.

Unique infusion of money

While ordinary gins boil their plant products directly in alcohol to achieve their taste, the wonderfully distinctive taste of our gin is created through the process of infusing steam. We still use our original Carterhead distillers - Tom and Mary - from the 1830s, but now we have added two modern 12,000-liter copper distillers - Henry and Victoria.

Basic plant products

From the heat of our Moroccan kubeb fruit to the spice of our West African paradise beans, each of our ten precious plant ingredients has been chosen to bring its own special thing to our gin. Uniquely distilled, they come together to give Bombay Sapphire its captivating, smooth and sophisticated taste.
