Martell
Martell cognac differs from other cognacs due to its special method of double distillation, traditional in the Charente region. The distillation process takes place in copper chambers or tanks to extract the essence of the wine, called 'eau de vie' (brandy). Martell is the only large horse house in which only clear wines are distilled - in which all sediments and impurities are removed to obtain extremely fine and pure brandy.
The grapes come from the four main growing areas in the Charente region: Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies and Fins Bois.
Martell is then aged in soft, fine-grained oak barrels that emit smooth, well-balanced aromas of cognac brandy, giving them hints of vanilla, dried fruit, red fruit and dried flowers.
Each cognac is created with the help of a masterful blend of brands from different vintages and growing areas. The master of the winery carefully selects and mixes them to consistently obtain the unique, high-quality taste of Martell cognac.
