Chateau Burgozone
To the north, where grapes from the time of the Thracians were grown on the slopes of the Danube, is Chateau Burgozone - a cellar in the shape of a fortress and named after a Roman fort. We are a boutique family cellar, perched on the banks of the great Danube, among the vineyards that stretch to the horizon. As independent wine growers, we have the ambition to present modern and elegant Bulgarian wines.
Chateau Burgozone is a family boutique winery from Northwestern Bulgaria. The winery is located near the town of Oryahovo, on the banks of the Danube River, overlooking the island of Esperanto. The winery gets its name from the Roman fortress Burgozone, built on the ancient Roman road Via Istrum. Over the centuries, the region is famous as one of the main wine regions of Bulgaria.
The selection of an array for the construction of a vineyard began in 2000. A unique terroir of 100 hectares with proven potential for growing grapes of the highest quality was selected.
All Chateau Burgozone wines are made from their own grapes, which are picked and sorted by hand. As a result of "canopy management" and "green grape picking", reflected in intensive manual operations in the vineyard, yields are limited and the grapes are of the highest quality.
In wine production we are guided by a minimalist intervention in vinification, paying special attention to varietal characteristics. The style of Burgozone is the result of a unique terroir, influenced by the Danube River and the know-how of two famous Bulgarian oenologists and can be described as SPF - Fresh, Fruit and Finn.
Each glass of Burgozone wine takes you on a journey along the Danube.
