Varna Wine Cellar

The winery is a dream come true of two friends from different generations, but with the same attitude to the beautiful and valuable things in life. The name Varna provoked with the idea of reviving the forgotten wine traditions in the region.

"Wine Cellar - Varna" is a joint project of Grigor Grigorov - vine grower and investor and Tsanko Stanchev - technologist and oenologist with many years of experience.

The winery has been operating since 2008 and is part of a complex for grape processing, wine and brandy production. Here you can indulge in wine tourism with a tasting room and a wine and accessories store. It is located 2 km. from the beach, close to resorts such as Albena, Balchik, Golden Sands.

Varna Wine Cellar is equipped with modern facilities with the help of which the production of high quality wines is ensured. The technology is in line with the latest world trends.

Vineyards

Our vineyards are dominated by white grapes Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, German Riesling, Italian Riesling, Traminer, Gruner Weltliner, Muscat O'Tonnell. There are some Bulgarian varieties such as Varna Muscat, Vratsa Muscat. The red grape varieties grown by us, such as Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Sangiovese, Grenache are very suitable for the production of rosé wines.

Terroir

The region of the northern Black Sea coast is known for its very specific climatic and soil characteristics. Sandy to cinnamon-forest soil - highly drainage, allows control of soil moisture. The influence of the sea is also felt in the taste of our wines.

Climate

Moderate summer temperatures, without sharp amplitudes between day and night, which helps to evenly reach technological maturity in the grapes. Night breeze - movement of air that prevents the development of fungi. Moderate humidity - helps maintain the turgor state of the plant.

The wines produced by us are sold mainly on the domestic market in the region of Varna and on the Black Sea coast as bottled products.
The oenologist of the company Tihomir Trifonov, who was named oenologist of the year 2016 by the Union of Oenologists in Bulgaria, also received recognition.
