Beluga

Beluga is a super premium Russian vodka created by true professionals who settle for nothing less than perfect results. The brand's products successfully combine the latest technological methods and centuries-old traditions of vodka production, which together with their unrivalled taste establish Beluga as a renowned global brand and a symbol of luxury.

The vodka is named after the beluga fish, whose black caviar is an extremely expensive delicacy not only in Russia, but all over the world. The fish inhabits crystal clear waters and symbolizes the purity of nature. The brand's products are produced at the Mariinsky liquor and vodka factory in the Kemerovo region of Siberia. Maryinsk is located about 3,800 km east of the Russian capital Moscow. In 1698, the settlement appeared on the map of Western Siberia under the name Kiyskaye. In 1856 it was granted the status of a town and renamed Kiisk. A year later Emperor Alexander II changed its name again and since then the settlement has been called Mariinsk. The distillery was built in 1900 and has a long tradition in vodka production. In 2006 it was bought by JSC Synergy to produce the company's entire range of alcohol products in Siberia.

The Beluga brand is well known and admired by people in over 40 countries in Europe, America, Asia and the Middle East. The brand's philosophy is focused on following high standards, which allows the sophisticated taste of the products to be introduced to the widest possible audience. The number of countries in which Beluga vodkas are available is growing steadily due to constant marketing activities and an integrated approach to promoting brand awareness.

Beluga's motto is "The freedom of luxury". It is no coincidence that the brand's marketing appearances are aimed at luxury events such as yacht races, polo matches, exhibitions and charity events, which are attractive to successful people of high social status. The yachts flying the Beluga flag and their polo teams have won a number of international tournaments.

The production of Beluga vodka follows traditional methods and uses some special ingredients such as honey, extracts of oats, rice and milk thistle. The addition of these does not mean that the vodka is flavoured, as they are in extremely small quantities, but they contribute significantly to the individual character and recognisable appearance of the brand's products.

The brand's portfolio features two main products - Beluga Noble and Beluga Gold Line, as well as two limited edition products - Beluga Transatlantic Racing and Beluga Allure. Great care has been taken in the creation of the products, and their appearance also impresses vodka connoisseurs. The label and the metal fish on the bottles are applied by hand. The Beluga Gold Line also has a special finishing touch - the neck of the bottle and the cork are dipped in melted red wax, on which the brand's distinctive seal is applied. In addition, a unique serial number is inscribed on the label of each bottle.

One of the proofs of the brand's uncompromising quality are the numerous international awards it has received over the years. In 2013, Beluga Gold Line was awarded the prestigious Robb Report "Best of the Best 2013" award in the alcoholic beverages segment. A year later, the brand was ranked the 4th most prosperous international alcoholic beverage brand for 2014.

The water

For the production of Beluga is used crystal clear water from Siberian artesian wells, which are located at a depth of 300-320 meters. To achieve the premium quality of the products, the mixture of alcohol and water is filtered through quartz sand. The quartz absorbs heavy metals and eliminates iron, manganese, chlorine and aluminium. This is followed by double purification through white birch activated carbon - the alcohol mixture is passed through 2 columns, each loaded with 250 kg of white birch activated carbon. This absorbs the impurities and at the same time enhances the oxidation processes, contributing to the premium quality of the vodka. For the final purification, the mixture is again passed through a silica sand filter, where the fine char particles are removed and the crystal clarity of the vodka is ensured.

The grain

An extremely important main ingredient of Beluga vodka is the unique grain malt grown in an ecologically clean region in Western Siberia. After harvesting, the grain is dried at a temperature of 100 degrees Celsius and then heated to a temperature of 45 degrees Celsius. It is important not to over-dry it, as this would destroy the living organisms needed for natural fermentation. No artificial enzymes or bacteria are used in the fermentation stage. This technology takes a long time, is very expensive, is used extremely rarely and makes Beluga products taste extremely mild, balanced and with a sense of luxury.

Fermentation and maturation

It is the aging period that is the key to Beluga's perfect taste. This time allows the molecular components to stabilise, thus ensuring the vodka's velvety and smooth taste. The products in the portfolio are aged for varying periods of time - Beluga Noble is aged for 30 days, Beluga Transatlantic Racing for 45 days, Beluga Allure for 60 days and Beluga Gold Line for 90 days.
