Maryan Winery

In the names of the wines we sealed a piece of Bulgarian history and the glorious Second Bulgarian Kingdom. Enjoy them!

We are the Ivanov family - Svetla and Elijah, and our sons Peter and Vladimir. Together with our friend - oenologist and agronomist Stefan Choranov, we created Marian Wine Cellar in 2010. Our idea is to create small series of wines and to continue the traditions of making wine with a lot of love and faith in the uniqueness of the Elena region.

We named the cellar in the village of Maryan. This is where we make our wines with great dedication. The unusual history of the village is connected with the legend of the beautiful Kera Tamara. She was the daughter of Tsar Ivan Alexander and the sister of Tsar Ivan Shishman: the last Bulgarian ruler.

Terroir and climate

Built in the bosom of Stara Planina, the winery combines the best conditions for creating unique wines.

Grapes

For our wines we select the best grapes from observed vineyards.

Equipment

We ordered the technological equipment especially for the winery in accordance with the classic technologies for the production of red and white wines.
