The Balvenie is the only distillery that grows its own barley, uses the traditional malting floor and has its own specialists in distillation pots and its own coopers - nowadays this makes us the "most hand-made malt".
The Balvenie 12YO Double Wood is a single malt whiskey, which acquires its unique character from aging in two types of barrels. It is aged in traditional oak barrels, which give it softness and character, and then transferred to single-harvest sherry barrels, which give it additional depth and fullness of taste.
Aroma - Sweet fruit and hints of sherry Oloroso, layered with honey and vanilla.
Taste - Smooth and juicy, beautifully combined flavors of nuts, cumin and sherry, with a long finish.
Finish - Warm and long.
