Fernet Branca liqueur is an aromatic drink from the category of bitter, produced from 40 herbs and spices, including myrtle, rhubarb, chamomile, cardamom and saffron, based on grape alcohol. The recipe was created in 1845 by Maria Scala in Milan and is kept secret to this day. After the marriage, Maria Scala changed her last name to Maria Branca and then the name of the product was given. Fernet Branca is still produced in Milan by the Frateli Branca company, run by the Branca family.
